Alex Piper is a Lecturer of Theatre Performance within The Department of Theatre and Dance at Troy University. Alex is an Equity Actor previously based in Washington, D.C. where he performed with 2 Tony Award winning theaters during his tenure there. Notable Credits Include: As You Like It, Henry IV Part I, and Henry IV Part II (The Shakespeare Theatre Company) Sense and Sensibility and As You Like It (The Folger) and The World Premier of House of Cards writer Kenneth Lin’s political thriller Kleptocracy (Arena Stage). He has also served as a Teaching Artist and Instructor for The Shakespeare Theatre Company in the Department of Education. Alex’s academic work also includes serving as a Lecturer at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. where he was awarded the campus wide honor of The Faculty Award for Teaching Excellence in Early Career. Alex is also an experienced fight director/ choreographer holding several certifications across a wide range of areas through the certifying body of Dueling Arts International. He holds an MFA in Performance from The University of Southern Mississippi (To The Top).
